Accessibility
BiochemDrill™ by Swift Mart LLC · Updated November 6, 2026 · Feedback: support@outermilelabs.com
Our goal
BiochemDrill aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA (the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, level AA) on phones, tablets and laptops. We test with automated checks (axe, WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules) at phone and desktop widths and with keyboard-only use before each release.
What is in place
- Every activity, question and dialog works with the keyboard alone; answer choices and feedback are announced to screen readers.
- Touch targets on phones are at least 44 × 44 px.
- Text meets AA contrast targets, and right/wrong states are shown with text as well as colour.
- Reduced motion: when your system asks for less motion, animations are reduced or replaced by static states.
- Light, dark and automatic themes, chosen from the toggle and remembered on your device.
Known limitations
- Pathway builders, place-the-enzyme and plot-reading activities depend on a visual layout. A screen reader hears each control's label and the result, not the whole picture.
- Cheat sheets read as selectable text in the in-app reader; downloaded PDFs are print layouts and may not read well with a screen reader.
- Diagrams and figures carry a short text label, not a full description of everything drawn.
